Walk, Talk and Gawk at Nyerimilang

Sunday 25 June 2006

Nyerimilang is more than just a pretty face.

A poster asked what a 400 y.o. Kurrajong Tree looks like;

These trees had been ringbarked with an axe in the distant past but have survived and recovered due to just a few strands of connecting bark.

    I often look at your pages with pleasure, living in a dry land farming area near Numurkah I,m envious of your proximity to lakes,rivers and ocean.Could someone please post a photo of the 400 year old Kurrajong as we have several near us and I,d like to compare them. I don’t think ours predate anglo inhabitation but maybe there is a clue in comparative sizes
    Cheers and thanks

    Hey Paul,

    How does this tree compare to the ones near you? The tree pictured is approx. 450 y.o.,

    regards, Maurice
