Winter and Spring have once more rejuvenated wetlands in East Gippsland and Macleod Morass is now a hive of activity.

This 520 hectare fresh water marsh is part of a worldwide scheme to protect and enhance wetland habitat and probably this is the best time of the year to appreciate the breadth of its wild life.

Friends of the Parks and Reserves of the Gippsland Lakes (FoGL) are organising a walk through the Morass on Saturday October 13th. If you would like to participate we will meet at 10.00 am at the entrance to the Morass on Bosworth (Saleyards) Road below the Bairnsdale saleyards.

The walk will be led by Jim Reside of Wildlife Unlimited.

It is suggested that those participating bring binoculars. If you would like morning tea please bring a thermos and your preferred snack.

Water, mosquito repellent and sunscreen are also suggested.
